Once a year, Harry's Fresh Foods, a local producer of fresh, ready-to-eat meals, stages a two-day event called "Ski Summit" and invites chefs and restaurant managers of the nation's top ski resorts to visit their facilities, sample their product line, and enjoy some of Portland's tourist attractions which are usually centered around a specific theme (last year's involved wine tasting at local vineyards).
This year, their guests are going on a pub crawl and will be given a beer stein with their invitation. Thus the logo for the event needs to look great as a one-color screen-printed emblem as well as a full-color attention grabber.
Alex took inspiration from the "Ski Summit" event name and designed a logo that emulates a ski patrol badge and incorporates Oregon's iconic Mt. Hood. The logo was used on the invitation/brochure, printed on beer mugs, and used on signage and presentation handouts to visually tie the whole event together.
Even though the "Ski Summit" event logo had to incorporate the Harry's Fresh Foods logo and green/black/gold colors, Defteling was able to imbue the emblem with a special flair that set the tone for the event.
